Toacca Rutherford is the Head of Knowledge Management for Machine Learning and Intelligence Operations at JPMorgan Chase. She leads a new function of product development, which is to proactively capture and document knowledge centrally for customer service, leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence. Toacca drives solutions enabling real-time help, answers, and insights for millions of customers who self-serve digitally and for thousands of employees who provide customer service in call centers and bank branches.
Prior to this, Toacca was the Head of Product for Chase’s Digital Self-Service, which created web and mobile experiences for over 50 million.
Over her career, Toacca has led in roles driving innovation at JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) as Head of Business Engineering, Chief Development Officer for Consumer, Business Banking, and Auto Finance Technology, Global Head of General Ledger Technology, and Chief Technology Officer for Corporate and Investment Bank’s Finance division. She was licensed by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) with a Series 99 for Registered Operations Professionals of Broker-Dealers. Toacca is based in New York City and started her career at JPMorgan as a Database Developer after graduating from Rutgers University School of Engineering.
Professionally, Toacca is active in the JPMC Black Executive Forum and Black Organization for Leadership Development and is the former Co-Chair of the Global Technology Diversity Council Black Community Pillar. She received a Rising Star Award at the Women of Color STEM Conference and has been featured in Black Enterprise, Rutgers Center for Women in Business, and Advancing Black Pathways. Toacca has partnered with the National Society of Black Engineers, Year Up, Code Differently, and Girls Who Code to advise, mentor, and inspire students to pursue STEM careers. She co-chaired the Diverse by Design National Working Group powered by Per Scholas and the Information Technology Senior Management Forum to increase the representation and advancement of underrepresented groups in STEM.
Board Service is another realm where Toacca makes an impact on students in their formative and advanced years of education. Toacca serves as an Advisory Board Member of Horizons National and as Co-President of Horizons Newark to produce experiences in academics, arts, sports, technology, and culture for school-aged children in under-resourced communities. Toacca is on the Rutgers Business School Board of Advisors, serving on the Academic Programs Committee to shape courses of study, program concentrations, new program development, and other areas for undergraduate and graduate students. She actively works with the Rutgers University Foundation to increase the engagement of alumni.
In the community, Toacca is an active leader at Ebenezer Baptist Church (EBC) in Orange, NJ, where she is a Founder of the Technology Ministry and President of the Women’s Ministry. Virtual EBC is a digital worship experience launched in 2020 to engage members during the pandemic, strengthen fellowship, and reach a broader audience. The Women’s Ministry participates in the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Walk, raising awareness and money towards combatting breast cancer. Toacca produced the first women’s retreat, which included spiritual workshops, yoga, meditation, worship, and fellowship. Toacca is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated for over thirty years after being initiated at the Xi Nu Chapter of Rutgers University.
Toacca resides in New Jersey and is a devoted wife, mother of three daughters, and a Pomsky.
