Overview

The Rutgers African-American Alumni Alliance (RAAA), Inc. Hall of Fame induction ceremony is an awards dinner and fundraising event that honors the achievements of graduates of African descent from Rutgers University and raises funds to support student scholarships. The Hall of Fame promotes interaction between students, alumni and administration. The Hall of Fame encourages students and young alumni to draw from their experiences at Rutgers to succeed academically, professionally and personally.

Since its inception, RAAA Hall of Fame has honored over 100 alumni, primarily of African descent, representing many corners of the world including the United States, Anguilla, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Vincent, Panama, Guyana, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, and Nigeria. The 2024 Hall of Fame Ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024.  The deadline to submit nominations for the 2024 Hall of Fame is Sunday, March 31, 2024.  Due to a continuous stream of nominations, we will no longer rollover and review nominations not selected from the prior selection process.  This change is in effective for the Class of 2019 nomination period and beyond. 

The Hall of Fame event has raised over $40,000.00 for student scholarships with the Annual Paul Robeson Scholarship Fund as the main benefactor. Our ultimate goal is to raise +1 Million for an Endowed Scholarship. We hope is that you will share your time, talents and finances to enable the legacy of celebration, acknowledgment coupled with paying it forward to continue.

The purpose of this annual celebration is to:

  • Celebrate and share the achievements of Rutgers’ alumni of African descent with the University community
  • Raise funds for student support programs
  • Provide an networking opportunity for alumni, students and friends
