Julienne is a results-driven nonprofit director with over 20 years of experience developing innovative programs. She is deeply committed to improving the lives of her neighbors in need living in the underserved communities. She has the proven ability to provide team leadership, driving performance, program improvement and quality initiatives. Simply put, Julienne is a visionary leader known for ability to win community support, develop key coalitions and build relationships with a shared sense of purpose… she strives for everyone to win!
Julienne holds a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University (Rutgers College) and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Kean University. Julienne is currently the Executive Director at Summit Medical Group Foundation, soon to be Summit Health Cares. The Foundation is fortunate to work with a cadre of volunteers and community partners to help bring this mission to life. Through the mission, they are focused on supporting people in need and helping their neighbors in underserved communities gain access to the medical, educational and social services they need to live a healthier life. Throughout the year, the non-profit that Julienne leads, holds a myriad of events such as backpack drives, toy drives, holiday meals and more for their community partners to name a few. Julienne is passionate in fighting for equitable access.
Prior to holding the executive director position, she served as the Executive Director of CASA of Union County and was the Director of Agency Relations at the Community FoodBank of NJ. She is the Vice Chair of the National Diaper Bank Network and a board member of Mom’s Helping Moms. Over the last 8 years, Julienne has been committed to ending Period Poverty to ensure Menstrual Equity and ending Diaper Need nationally.
Julienne became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, Gamma Kappa Chapter at Rutgers University on April 12, 1997. She is an active member in the local chapter of Eta Omicron Zeta serving Union and Middlesex County. Zeta Phi Beta was founded on the principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love, and Finer Womanhood and the precepts that “elitism and socializing had overshadowed the real mission of sororities-to address and correct the problems of society, particularly, those plaguing the African-American community. In June 2018, Julienne facilitate a Health Fair for a crowd of over 10k participants and 45 vendors.
Julienne is currently living in Union County and is happily married to her husband Jamar Cherry and has two sons, Tyrese Cherry and Jamar Cherry Jr. She remains committed to ensuring future scholars attending Rutgers University are financially supported.
