Dr. Talya K. Fleming, a distinguished medical professional, graduated from Rutgers University in 2000 and earned her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed her residency training at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute and currently serves as the Medical Director of the Stroke Recovery Program, Post-COVID Rehabilitation Program, and Aftercare Programs at the institute. Dr. Fleming, double board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as Brain Injury Medicine, is renowned for her commitment to advancing equity, inclusion, and justice for underserved communities. As a Core Assistant Professor at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, she has garnered international respect for her research and numerous professional achievements, including receiving prestigious awards such as the Castle Connolly Top Black Doctors distinction and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) 2023 Distinguished Public Service, Health Equity, and Advocacy Award. With nearly a decade of experience at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, Dr. Fleming’s dedication to her field exemplifies excellence and compassion in patient care and advocacy.
