Dr. Don N. Harris

Class of 2012 Inductee

Dr. Don N. Harris, is a proud 1951 graduate of Lincoln University, where he currently serves as a Trustee. After he was honorably discharged from the Army Medical Corp he received both his Masters and Ph.D. from Rutgers Uni- versity in Biochemistry in 1959 and 1963 respectively. He shared nearly 40 years with his late wife, Regina (Brooks) and remains the loving father of

Donna (husband Royce), Craig and Scott , grandfather to Danielle, Zachary ,Taylor, Brian and Joshua. He is a brother beloved by the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity (where he pledged at Nu Chapter and was the first President for Theta Psi Lambda Chapter) and Mu Boule Chapter of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity (where he has served as Secretary).

In his professional life, Dr. Harris authored and/or co-authored over sixty scientific papers, fifty abstracts and five patents. The significance of his discoveries and scholarly works lead to significant advances in the pharmaceutical industry particularly in matters of the heart.

His community involvement has included membership, advisory and leadership in the Franklin Township community, UMDNJ, Rutgers EOF, Princeton University Afro-American Studies and the WEB DuBois Scholars Institute. He has been recognized for his service by the Mu Boule, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Lincoln University, Harlem YMCA, Museum of Science and Industry of Chicago and NAACP to name a few.
