RAAA Nasir Shakir Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in remembrance of Nasir’s generous spirit. He mentored many young Black men and women and supported Black college students through the National Society of Black Engineers to pay forward the guidance and support of his mentor at Rutgers, Dean Donald Brown. Because Shakir was an Engineering and EOF student, as well as being active in the MEET/NSBE organization at Rutgers, the scholarship will be directed toward undergraduate students similarly involved. Nasir passed away on November 1, 2020 at the age of 44.

RAAA Rites of Passage Graduate Scholarship supports a Rutgers undergrad continuing their graduate education at Rutgers University. Funds will be used to provide graduate support for at least (1) graduate for each of the three campuses.
