Emily and Ellsworth Austin Educational Trust – SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR INCOMING FRESHMAN

It began in September 2014, in partnership with the Emily and Ellsworth Austin Educational Trust, RAAA will provide a scholarship to an incoming freshman Rutgers University student carrying a minimum of 12 semester hours. The scholarship is open to students of African descent. Currently, four students are active scholarship recipients.

The Emily and Ellsworth Austin Educational Trust Scholarship award provides financial assistance to deserving students that are accepted and enter into an institution of higher learning according to the guidelines and procedures as set forth by the trustees or grantors of this educational trust.

The $2,500.00 scholarship is renewable throughout the recipient’s four year college career per Trust guidelines. Please note that the selection process is solely at the discretion of the Emily and Ellsworth Austin Education Trust Scholarship Board.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED OR POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN MAY 31, 2018 – NO Exceptions.

We once thank 2017 RAAA Hall of Fame Inductee Mr. Shawn Austin, who serves as an Austin Educational Trustee, for facilitating the inclusion of a scholarship specifically earmarked for a Rutgers University student. Mr. Austin’s efforts showcase how we can make a difference in our community, one alumnus at a time. For our inclusion in this process, RAAA will work to facilitate the application process as a means to provide a wider pool of eligible candidates. As it is our intent to be a conduit for increased opportunities in our community, RAAA is committed to engage, mentor and encourage the award recipients to ensure they maintain the eligibility requirements for scholarship renewal during their time at Rutgers.
